Chatham Prospector
Chatham County Economic Development Corporation uses Chatham Prospector, a powerful and comprehensive GIS service for finding your ideal location. This service is available for free and can search for available office, retail, industrial, warehouse buildings, and vacant lots. The map is customizable and the search query can be customized in a variety of ways.

NC Certified Sites Property Search
The North Carolina Department of Commerce offers the NC Site Search database to locate business-ready sites and buildings. Certified sites have undergone rigorous tests, including Phase I environmental audits, geo-technical studies, and topographic analyses, to assure that they are ready for development.  NC Site Search helps businesses simplify the site selection process by featuring aerial photography, public utilities availability, industrial quality power capacity, engineered site development plans, a detailed analysis of development cost, and competitive prices in their site listings.

Both of these tools are available to the public for free. The EDC also has access to STBD Online and other GIS-based programs that can help a small business determine if a site has business potential. Click here for more information on our small business tools.
